At TritonGrove Productions, we specialise in hand-drawn animation, whether digital or traditional. From simple minor animatics that create the feeling of drifting through layered paper, to more detailed major animatics with rich colours and depth, all the way to full 2D animation, our focus is on crafting stories frame by frame. This traditional approach gives our work a nostalgic, artistic quality that sets us apart and brings a unique character to every project.
ANIMATICS

Our first style of animatic is created using digitally hand-drawn PNG layers—like a stop-motion, but crafted frame-by-frame in a digital format. This layered approach allows us to add simple camera movements like pans and tracking shots, bringing your scenes to life with depth and motion.

These animatics are incredibly versatile and can be used for storytelling on social media, docu-series or full-length documentaries, pitch decks, presentations, or as a kind of "moving storyboard"—ideal for shoots involving large crews, high budgets, or stunts. They help ensure that everyone on set understands the exact visual intent before the camera rolls.

MINOR ANIMATIC
Our "A Minor" animatic style features a single, highly detailed digital painting enhanced by subtle animation—like drifting spores, a flicker of light, or gentle movement. In the example to the right, the mushrooms are fully rendered artworks, with their spores floating away to add a touch of life and atmosphere.

This approach is perfect for creating mood without overcomplicating the animation process. Due to the level of detail, these animatics are versatile enough to be cropped and reused across multiple shots or scenes, offering both beauty and flexibility.

This category is more cost-effective than our fully layered animatics, as it involves less complex movement. Pricing depends on whether the artwork is in black and white or colour, with colour requiring more time and resources.
MAJOR ANIMATIC
Major-animatics are a unique and engaging storytelling format that sits just one step below full 2D animation. They combine the charm of handcrafted visuals with the narrative power of animation, making them an excellent choice for a wide range of projects.

These animatics are often rich in color and detail, with carefully composed scenes that guide the viewer through a visual journey. Whether you're creating a commercial, a short film, or content for children's entertainment, major-animatics can bring your story to life in a vibrant and memorable way.

The style draws inspiration from traditional stop-motion techniques—think layers of paper cutouts brought to life with subtle movements and expressive transitions. This gives the animation a tactile, almost handmade aesthetic that stands out from more polished digital styles.

2D ANIMATION
Our 2D animation is crafted using a traditional frame-by-frame method, where every frame is individually hand-drawn. This time-honored technique gives each project a unique sense of movement, character, and emotional depth.

While we typically use digital tools to create these animations—offering flexibility and efficiency—we also accommodate fully traditional pen-and-paper workflows for those seeking a truly handcrafted feel. Keep in mind that this process requires significantly more time and resources, which is reflected in the pricing.

Hand-drawn animations have a nostalgic quality, reminiscent of the beloved animated films released over two decades ago. They offer more natural motion, artistic expression, and a certain timelessness that digital shortcuts often can't replicate.
